O-Stories Episode 2: The sounds of monkeys
The Sounds of Monkeys
When it comes to language, our Outlookers are questioning the language abilities of some monkeys. Recent studies have showed that some primates are more sophisticated than previously believed. They live together in social groups. Individuals contribute to find food sources, take care of their young children, and act cautiously to avoid possible dangers from predators. They show abilities to modify calls and vocalizations to transmit different signals that carry warning messages, food calls, territorial claims, mating calls, and other important auditory communication within the groups. Some of them even evolved in having their own languages as well as understand the languages of other species.O-Stories Episode 1: The Outlook of Dennis
